Bilfinger Berger Industrial Services continuing growth course in the United Kingdom
• Acquisition of O'Hare Engineering strengthening Bilfinger Berger Industrial Services AG’s position in the UK onshore sector
Munich, 23 May 2007 --- Bilfinger Berger Industrial Services, one of the leading industrial service providers in Europe, is extending its service business in the UK process industry. The Group has acquired O’Hare Engineering, a potent provider of maintenance and repair services for production equipment. Confidentiality has been agreed on the purchase price to be paid for this hitherto family-owned company.
With total revenues of over € 60 million, O’Hare serves renowned companies in the chemical and petrochemical industry. From its headquarters near Manchester, it handles 80 percent of its business via long-term outline contracts, specialising in maintenance, project management and professional engineering services to the Refining and Chemical sectors of the UK. With its wide range of services, it integrates various activities to provide its customers with tailored solutions. O’Hare has around 600 employees.
Since the acquisition of the UK Salamis Group in 2006, Bilfinger Berger Industrial Services (BIS) has been the market leader in maintenance and repairs for offshore rigs in the North Sea and is already developing preliminary onshore activities. “With the acquisition of O’Hare, we have additionally built on our good position as a provider of industrial services in the UK process industry. In connection with BIS Salamis’ activities in particular, we are now able to step up our main contracting business by integrating services which complement each other. In this way, we are confident of being able to intensify our growth course in the United Kingdom,” says Thomas Töpfer, CEO of Bilfinger Berger Industrial Services AG.
